Our Founder’s Story
From a young age, Michy—founder of Lux & Laces—knew what it felt like to stand on the outside looking in. Raised by a hardworking single mother who did everything she could to provide for her family, Michy grew up with limited means. While other kids wore the newest shoes and the latest trends, she often had to make do with worn-out, outdated clothes.
The world can be unkind to those who look different, and Michy felt it deeply. She was teased, overlooked, and made to feel “less than” simply because of what she wore. Confidence didn’t come easily—but one thing did a vision.
Even as a child, Michy imagined a future where no one’s self-worth depended on their financial situation. She dreamed of creating a space where style and confidence were accessible to everyone—not just a privilege for a few. Over time, that dream grew into a mission of equality, empowerment, and self-expression.
